I’m guessing here, but it looks like it might be because, in general, your images are HUGE. IE may just be giving up because it doesn’t have enough resources to display the graphics.
Just a guess mind you.

Your index page weighs in at a hefty 5.873mb (as seen my Safari’s
Developer Menu > Network Timeline) so I would aim to trim a bit of
fat off the image sizes in any case.
