Other Web Design Software

Just doing some research into what else is available for producing websites on a mac. Or even browser based.

Any recommendations? Doesn’t necessarily have to be a CMS System.

Although I haven’t used it, I do like the look and feel of Muse. A nice, clean user interface that maybe Freeway could learn something from? I do think the UI is a bit of a letdown in Freeway.

Agree, I use both Freeway and Muse. Muse has many attributes that I’d like in Freeway, but there are some in Freeway that Muse could do with too!

Started out on Rapidweaver, not a big fan myself.

Do like the look of Macaw though

You’re all heathens - Freeway is brilliant. Sure it still needs refining but that’s no reason to desert it.

Uh, we’re still here…

Nobody is deserting anything, just looking around for inspiration. Personally, I have followed the advice they give in Texas: “Dance with who brung ya” for quite a few years now.

Freeway taught me to code. Full stop. I’ve continued to return/share that favor long after I “graduated” from the target market for this app.

Not moving on, just looking at what is out there, need more than just the one option.

Except software isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Here are a couple of others:
Everweb - www.everwebapp.com costs $80 and has a 60 day free trial. This is very similar to iWeb, but also has Master Pages.
Quick’n Easy Web Builder - www.quickandeasywebbuilder.com costs $30 and comes with a 30 day free trial. This is excellent value for money.

I’ve been looking at some alternatives (mainly to include responsiveness and CMS). One thing they all seem to lack that FW lets you go hog wild with is forms.

They mostly give you the option to make a basic contact form, but I’ve had to make some pretty large multi quiestion forms and had problem using FW and Tim’s (FREE) PHP Feedback Form Action.
