page length in blogger

Can anybody tell me how to make colour on the page grow with the posts in blogger please. I’ve tried colouring the ‘post’ box but even that cuts off at the initial page size. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Mobabs,

It’s a bit difficult to know what might be happening without seeing
the page in question. At a guess though you are either using a
background image that isn’t tiling, a large graphic item on the page
that is of a fixed size or using CSS Layout items (layers) that are
also a fixed size and not growing with the content. If you can let us
know the URL (send it to me personally, or at support if you don’t
want to put the URL on here) then we can look into it further for you
and let you know exactly what you need to do.

Hi Joe
I removed all the graphic items that were not showing and created the header in Photoshop. I can’t get rules, page backgrounds or anything created in Freeway to show. I have coloured the text (blog) box in the hopes of it working.
Here is the test URL: http://beetle-testing.blogspot.com/

Thanks

Thanks Mobabs, that helped. You need to make item2 wither a none layer
or remove its height. To remove its height click the icon next to its
height (which is 780px) and that value will be grayed out or
disappear. Doing this will stop it from having an absolute height and
force it to grow with the content inside of it.

Gotcha warning for this to work you may need to make the items
inside item2 (the blogger items) in-flow, making them proper CSS
Layout items. For this reason I would probably recommend just
unticking the Layer option in the Inspector Palette instead of making
the item have an undefined height.

Cheers,

Joe

Sorry, let me say that in English this time =)

The easiest way to fix this is to make “item2” a table based item. To
do this, select the item that isn’t stretching down the page (item2)
and in the Inspector Palette untick the Layer option. The problem with
using layers as you are is that you need to make the correct structure
for the items to grow with the content on the page. An example of this
(but for a different problem.solution) can be seen here: http://users.softpress.com/joe/scriptaculous

Joe

Oh dear. I unticked ‘layer’ on item2 and Freeway crashed. I re-opened it and tried again. Freeway crashed again and now I have lost my blogger actions. I have tried drawing them from scratch but I cannot get them working. I even tried a new page of xhtml but no joy. Looks like I will have to start another site from scratch. It seems to be corrupted now.

A tutorial on blog making would be a great help :O)

I’ve managed it - finally :O)

After trying all sorts, it finally worked. I hope I can do it again now. I still can’t manage to get any graphics in the template to upload. I have to carry them in via Blogger, which means no design can be implemented. I am sure this isn’t correct or what is the point of using Freeway? I could have (and have with other blogs) done as much as this in Blogger. Any help with that would be appreciated too :O)

Thank you for your time on this.
