Page size proble,

Hi All,

Please could you help me with a problem -

How do i stop this page from scrolling / moving left & right.

http://www.creativelandscapingportfolio.co.uk/hddrive.html

  • The page width is 1000
  • The html top and bottom banner starts at -400 and ends 1400
  • The page is centralised

I want the top and banner to be as wide as possible so it fills up bigger screens,

What am i doing wrong ?

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
You need to replace the header and footer items for flexible inline items that will span the full width of the browser window. If you were just dealing with a full width header I’d suggest you fake it with a background image on the page that contains a stripe of the correct colour as you can do this easily without having to redo your page construction.

The footer needs to be pushed down when the page content flexes (either due to users scaling the content or you adding more content to the page) so needs to be an inline item rather than a background image. Here’s a simple example of your page construction using an inline layout method;

and here’s the Freeway Pro 6 file;

Take a look at Thomas’ great videos on inline (box model) page construction as planning and building pages using this method is powerful but can take a little getting used to;

You might want to check your spelling too

Many thanks Tim, I will take a good look of all the above today.

Thanks for the typo Dave! The site is still in early stages and has not had any spell check as yet.
