page width expands to max

Hi,
I want to start a new design with FRW pro but get stuck with a strange behaviour :
Have page width 550px, in the doc. set-up as well as in the inspector for the Master, then on Safari page width expands to max, i.e. all of the browser window is filled withthe bg-color! Tried this with different documents, they started to behave nicely, I change the colors then : max width!

Please if anyone has had this - help!

SOLVED!
This happens when (in Paula’s tutorial) the Master bg-color is set to other than “no color” or “white”!

It sounds as though you might be getting confused over what
‘background’ means. If you set the ‘background’ colour in Freeway
while nothing on the page is selected, then that sets the background
colour for the site, that is to say, the whole browser window, no
matter how big you drag it.

You can give the container that holds your content a different colour
by selecting it, then choosing a colour in the Inspector in the same
way that you chose the background colour.

best wishes,

The background color fills the entire browser window – always. That’s
how it is supposed to work. If you want a background that only fills
the width of your designed page (the page-in-a-page look), then you
need to make a background image that contains a stripe of that color
the width that you have designed your page, set it to tile vertically
only, and center it or not, depending on whether your page is centered
in the browser window. Then you can have one color in the body of your
page, and another in the “background”.
