I’ve got a site up and running, and it works great on Firefox, Safari and IE 7. The problem is that on IE6, the scroll bar doesn’t show up on one of the pages, and when you navigate off of the home page, you can’t get back to the home page – a blank, white page comes up instead.
I have an update for you. I don’t think the problem was an IE6 problem because I checked it on some other machines with IE 7 and the problem happened there, too. I think the issue is with a really cool action I was using that Walt Davis provides – it’s the Protaculous action and I set it so that it made the home page “pop” onto the screen all at once. It’s a nice, clean, cool effect, but I think that was also causing the other problem so, unfortunately, I had to take it off the site.
In any case, all is well with the site now, even though it doesn’t pop.
I noticed you fixed the navigation issue on IE6, but what was confusing was your code is set to “More Efficient” and it makes it hard to read the code to figure things out. I’d set it to “More Readable” in your Document Setup options to make it easier for other people.
Also, I’d suggest you rename your folders to not have spaces inbetween them. For instance your contact us page leads to a “Contact Us” folder. I’d suggest removing the space so it says, “ContactUs” or “Contact_Us.” I don’t think it’ll make a difference, but it’s just a picky thing so you don’t get those “%20” in the URL bar.
I also noticed on your contact page that you have two footers involving copyright at the end of the beginning content and then at the bottom is the same footer. I’d double check the file to make sure things aren’t overlapping or that a height problem has occurred. I’ll look into it further in a bit, unless someone else beats me to it.
Great input. I’ll take your suggestions and implement them.
The IE6 problem was fixed when I disabled Walt’s wonderful Protaculous coding that enabled the home page to pop up all at once. It was a nice little effect that I like, but it seemed to be causing the problem.
Hi, everyone. I’ve uncovered a new IE6 problem. It looks as though IE6 users can’t scroll down on some of the pages on the site.
My understanding is that this might be a CSS problem, but I’m not sure. The basic problem is that some of the articles on the site won’t allow IE 6 users to scroll down.
Anyone else had this problem? If so, how’d you fix it?
This was noted in a different thread and it’s something we are looking
in to.
Hope this helps,
Joe

Does that mean that there’s no immediate fix right now? I’m currently working around the problem by suggesting people download IE7 on my home page, but if there’s a plug in or something that can fix it, that would be great.
Nothing as yet but we are working on it. I’ll post it on the list when
we have something.
Cheers,
Joe

Ok guys, try the Action on this page out. All it does is add the fix
that Walter pointed out previously. It has had limited testing so
there is a possibility it may adversely affect your pages, if so it
can easily be removed from the page.
