Pages out of alignment

Here is a website I just put together.

http://www.emetalscharlotte.com/index.html

Click on the tabs and see how I the site pages are out of alignment. How can I fix this?

What I meant to type was:

“Click on the tabs and see how how the site pages are out of alignment. How can I fix this?”

Tabs? If you mean the linked text at the top, the page shifts to the right because the scrollbar that’s visible on the home page disappears from the other pages. The scrollbar is there because the home page has a little more content making it taller than the other pages.

The logo and header are also not positioned in the same place on the Home page as the others.

If you are using a Master then make sure that on each of the child pages that the elements that originate on the Master have the ‘Use Master Settings’ item checked.

You also have some google site verification code in there that may not be in the correct place

google-site-verification: googlefcfcde41f32971ad.html

Should that not be in a Meta Tag in the Head section, yours is in Before HTML.

Take that google code out before you do anything else - I think that is what is causing your problem.

It was the Google code. How did you guys see that?

Once you have had a bit of practice looking at HTML you can spot if something is not in the right place. Look at your page in Safari (or whatever) and View>Source to see it all in its raw HTML form.

In your particular page the google code was actually being displayed on the page - you just couldn’t see it because the Black header strip was obscuring it from view. It was displayed because you had inserted it in the worn g place in Page>HTML Markup

Thanks Dave.

That was inadvertently left behind in my multiple attempts to to get that Google validation HTML file to function correctly.

I finally figured that it was not supposed to be a part of any particular webpage it just needed to be uploaded to my main directory. I have a copy of fetch and uploaded it to the server and voilà it worked.

Thanks for catching that. This is my first live Freeway designed paying customer. He’s tickled with his new website.

Good for you - always nice when the customer is a happy bunny.

You might want to tweak your jotform so that it includes some validation to stop empty submissions though.

I think I saw that in the Jotfrom preferences. Any particular preference I should look out for?

You should ensure that the visitor at least fills in their name and email.

Personally I would just have 1 field for name and then you only need to verify it once rather than on both name and surname.

If there are options to stop HTML being sent via the form then I would utilise them too.

Thanks for your reply, David. I finally got my site tentatively on the web to make final adjustments, and saw that the problem only happens by viewing the file through a web browser when it is still in Freeway.
