Hi does anybody know how i can make certain pages of my site just for client og in with an email address and password?
also do you know how i can set up a regisration process where people have to register with the site with an email address and a password. Also can I set up an automatic email generator that will reply to the new user to the site.
I’m using freeway pro 5

Hi Peter
The easiest way to Password protect a folder on your server is to use the option often supplied by your hosting Company’s Cpanel (or similar)
In Cpanel select in Security: Password Protect Directories
You would then select the folder you wish to protect and then you can set up user/password combinations that are authorised to access that folder.

If this is purely for client access you’d be better assigning user/passwords rather than letting all and sundry do it themselves.

Hi David,
thanks, I meant password protected on my site not on the server. so people would go to a page on my site and log in.
I’ve never used scripts before but I’ll give it a go.

that is what I meant - using the control panel method means that a viewer that wants to access a page in a folder that is protected would have to enter a valid user/password combo to get in to that page
