Path tool not snapping to grid

I have “Snap to Grid” inabled but when I draw using the Path Tool the points do not snap to the nearest grid point, instead they simply are set wherever the tool tip is pointing. After I create something I have to go back and drag each corner point onto the grid. Is there a way to make the Path Tool do the snap?

Sorry - can´t confirm (under SnowLeopard). Work with both path and pen tool - click&drag or just click&click all is working.
What you´re doing exactly?

I think I just found the problem. I also had “Smart Guides” enabled and with that the point would sometimes lock on another element in the drawing that was not aligned to the grid. When I turn off “Smart Guides” then the snap to grid works as with the Path Tool as I would expect it to.

Thanks for you quick reply,

Paul

You can interactively use the grid-snapping when holding down “cmd-key” while placing a new point - which is also true for later editing; holding “cmd-key” will activate “snap to grid” while in edit-mode.
