PDF Page turning

Hi,

Does anyone know of any page turning/flipping software for online pdf’s that hooks in nicely with FW Pro 5 and doesn’t use flash to compose it.

Perhaps there is an action (dreaming of course).

I’ll be watching to see what suggestions are made, but this is really
something I wouldn’t expect to be able to do without Flash! You
wouldn’t have to code your own of course, but I don’t think there’s a
workable solution out there that doesn’t require the Flash plugin.

Hi Keith,

there are a number payware packages you can buy (mostly for the pc which use java, but surely someone is working on an action. Seems to me that this is the future for online material with interactivity etc etc.

Lets keep watching!

There are various solutions around for Macs too, and as
platform-agnostic server-based solutions as well, but they do all
produce Flash-based content as far as I’m aware.

It is a future for online media - but in my opinion certainly not
the future, as in the only one. This is a sophisticated replication
of print media, which has its places but doesn’t really take
publishing and content delivery forward with truly new ideas.

I like it (when it is done well and for appropriate content), but it
does still make me think of how early motorcar designs replicated the
structures of traditional horse-drawn carraiges.

Further to this, Adobe InDesign CS4 will have a great feature - exporting to flash (includes flash buttons) and page turning option at the export stage.

Starts about 3:30 mins into this video.

You’re right - I do a magazine each month and get someone else to sort out the page turning aspect - now I can do it myself, the first couple I do will pay for the upgrade itself.

Nathan, I see you too are a member of NAPP. You’re about the only other person I know who is a member. Probably why you found the videos too.

Anyways, thanks again for the tip.

Oh, have we missed http://www.Issuu.com. Outstanding and free. I’ve used it and have embedded some great stuff in a few of my project catalogs.
