Seriously it is quite a challenge to take on something like this and I think you have done really well.
My only criticisms would be that you have quite a lot of ‘body’ text that is graphic.
I know in quite a few places you need this to get some of the effects that you are trying to achieve but you should try and minimise it as much as possible - especially on your ‘Home’ page. I assume that it is important for you to be found by the search engines.
There were a couple of other pages that when I got to them I wasn’t sure exactly where I was - I am really thinking of the registration page here. A simple header would suffice.
There are also a few sections of type that are styled with a strikethrough - again a minor issue that I am sure you are working through to sort.
All in all very good and the best of luck attracting visitors to your convention.
I appreciate your taking the time to check out my site.
You’re right on the graphic text thing. I’m an old graphics guy from the days of t-squares and wax, having a hard time dealing with this HTML thingie. But I’m getting over it (it says here).
My one big irk, is when you open the home page, there is this large white area on the right. Maybe it’s just my browser.

Absolutely. An impressive effort and a huge amount of work! But if
you work hard on setting more text as HTML text rather than graphics
then you’ll improve your search engine rankings.
Oh, you might also consider removing the ‘splash’ loader page. It is
a funny fact of life that people who own a site like 'em, people who
visit the site generally don’t…
Ideally you want to design your site to fit the browser window of your average viewer to avoid this.
Using html text will allow you to use a more flexible layout with text boxes that can grow to suit. The same can be done with a header that will grow across the screen depending on the size of window. There are a couple of tutorials at softpress towers that cover this sort of thing.
