I’ve been working on a website for a client – UK.COM
Any comments or thoughts would be welcome.
In one sentence(!) the brief was to modernise the existing site, make it more search engine friendly and position the environmental consults as being client focused (rather than on the side of wildlife) – hence the images focus on buildings rather than the environment.
The one draw back is the site doesn’t use CSS layout, because I haven’t worked out how to do the box model yet.
I like the typography Mark. I know some people might say it might just be a bit darker and I’d agree. Nothing drastic, just a bit darker.
Other things I’d consider is the menu set up. Think about showing which page the user is currently on and how you could better show that. What I like to do is make the current page be white and then the other links be an off white so it’s subtle but noticeable. Then when a user rolls over the link then it shows white.
I also appreciate that you’ve named your pages well.
Thanks for your comments. You’re right about the menu. I always leave this to the last minute, so the ‘attachment’ to the Master Page remains.
You might be able to help me on another thread I’ve got:
I’d like to make the buttons act as a link, not just the text inside the buttons. It is easy to make a graphic box a button, but how do I add a link to a HTML box, and get it to change colour when hovered over?
