As you know Todd I’m rather Perch averse (just me folks, good cms) but assume in their case they are also keeping the ‘basic’ Perch.

Pulse is also becoming more complex, relatively speaking, however they’re leaving behind versions that had interesting features which are no longer carried forward. My main point being that upgrading / moving to new versions, sometimes more complex, are at the dictate of the developer obviously, especially if they have just a single version and product. A reluctance to develop two product streams. That’s the way things are I guess and in many ways a positive thing but the feeling of being led around by the nose, irks a bit at times, especially at the rate of change.

Probably just me getting old and grumpy  - a sometime enjoyable stereotype :))

Hi seoras,

I don’t know if there will be a basic and Runway version, I haven’t investigated beyond the link I posted, but that’s the impression I get.

As a CMS I quite like Perch but I’ve recently been trying to resolve an upgrade issue with support (on behalf of a client) and it’s been dragging on (going on 4 weeks now) with intermittent responses. I’m so disappointed with them that I’m now at the point where I (and the client) are considering moving the site to MODX. I really do like Perch and I and the client would like to continue using it but my patience has worn very thin indeed.

Maybe I’m getting old and grumpy too. We should start a club.
