persistent unselected product added to cart on table using Mal's Buy Form Set-Up

Hello the Forum,

I’m having trouble resolving a problem with Mal’s Freeway Actions. I’ve set up a table with three columns, one for product name, one for product price, one for checkbox. There are 9 products in the table. I’ve applied Mal’s Buy Form Set-up to the table itself and Mal’s Quantity Field/Checkbox/Radio to each checkbox. Unchecking 'use info in parent form, I’ve filled in the checkbox information for each product and numbered each accordingly. I added a submit button to the table.

What is happening is the first product appears in the cart whether or not it is selected, along with any other products which are selected. I can’t figure this one out. Mal’s won’t allow me to leave the product name and price blank in the Actions window for the Buy Form Set-up so it contains the default information.

On another page, I set up a successful table which is similar to the one above but the middle column contains Mal’s Multiprice Selection which gives the product information so the checkboxes are set to use the parent form instead. That table works just fine and the Actions window for the Buy Form Set-up also contains the default information.

Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Pat,
I’ve just tried this and here’s how I did it;

  1. Sketch out your table and add the Mals Buy Form Set up action to it
  2. In the action specify your store details as well as the details of
    your first product.
  3. Add the product names, prices and checkboxes to the table cells.
  4. Add the Mal’s Quantity Field/Checkbox/Radio action to each of the
    checkboxes
  5. For the settings for the first Mal’s Quantity Field/Checkbox/Radio
action select ‘Use info in parent form’ and select 1 as the product
    number
  6. In the remaining Mal’s Quantity Field/Checkbox/Radio actions set a
unique product number for each one (product 2, product 3, etc) and add
the correct product details for each item
  7. Add a standard submit button to the table

If nothing is selected when the form is submitted then then nothing
will be added to the cart otherwise the selected (checked) items will
all be added.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Tim.

Tim, it worked a charm and makes total sense. Thanks so much and will know what to do (and not to do) for a similar set-up in the future. Thanks so much!
