Then it won’t work for you. Ironically, Express users need to be more
code-friendly to get the same results that Pro users do.
If you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves a little, and have an
FTP/SFTP application like Transmit handy, there are a number of
different gallery applications you could avail yourself of which run
on your server and rely on you for only a bare template outline of
the finished page.
Another approach would be to use the Pic to New Window action, which
I believe is bundled with Freeway Express. Create large-sized images
in Photoshop or similar (save them as appropriately sized 72 pixels
per inch JPEG), and then apply the Action to each thumbnail in your
page layout. In the Actions palette, there is a control where you
select the large image. This control will appear when you have the
thumbnail selected. Once you have done that, you will be able to
click on the thumbnail and a new window will open with the large
image. The only down-side to this technique is that there is no way
to add text to the large image – all you are doing is opening the
raw image file in a browser window.

Thanks Pete.
May take me a while to sort this one out but it says ‘for Pro’ and
I have Express.
Have downloaded and opened it under ‘Actions’ but can’t find any
reference to it in the open programme.
Ah, sorry, yes it’s FW Pro only. Does your Express have the Pic to
New Window action? See page 15-27 in The Freeway Reference manual
(download the PDF from Softpress if you don’t have it http:// www.softpress.com/support/usermanuals.php Beware it’s a big old file
22mb)
Cheers

Many, many thanks for taking the time in sharing your ideas.
I ought to come clean … I may not be as young as many of you and I certainly do not understand HTML/code and most of the jargon which is used on the internet these days.
Along with those reasons, I certainly need a helping hand when working with internet software and unless it is spelt out in simple to understand basic English, my brain shuts down. It took me a number of weeks to get comfortable with the WYSIWYG system and all I want to do is find something easy to understand in order to launch a gallery.
I have Freeway 4 Express and iPhoto. Following Marcel’s suggestion, I downloaded SimpleViewer and soon realised that I was out of my depth as I had no idea what to do with it and how it would work with iPhoto - let alone how I would upload things to a site.
Would anyone have the time or the inclination to explain - click by click - how I might be able to integrate Freeway 4 Express, iPhoto and SimpleViewer … and get something loaded onto the web?
Someone with a less than technical brain would be eternally grateful …!
If you want to be able to upload a gallery from a few clicks via one of the
many ways to do this and link to it from a Freeway made page - then that is
very simple.
To get the template to integrate with the design of your Freeway is a
further step.
But a clear sense of what you want always helps get a relevant answer - and
writing to cover the bases can be lengthy.
all the best

Well put. I should have thought of that before posting.
OK, here’s the deal. I am designing my site on Freeway 4 Express, as described. I have my ‘index’ (first) page and then there is an ‘about’, ‘contact’ and then the gallery page(s). You can go to any page FROM any page with navigation buttons on each page …
The ‘index’, ‘about’ and ‘contact’ pages are basic black centred background with inserted graphics and HTML boxes filled with text.
Ideally, the gallery(s) should be made using the SimpleViewer and iPhoto.
I can imagine that they will have to be inserted separately, but that’s an uneducated guess.
Does this give you basic idea of what I intend to accomplish?
