PHP-easiform implementation error

Hello, I am turning to this forum as I am somewhat ironically having problems even leaving a support message on the Econ Dataweb website support form re the easiforms php implementation.
I have followed the instructions as close to the letter as I am aware I can do.

I’ve set up the pages, the elements etc and checked that the server is ok to use it. However when the submit button is hit I get this error message

“The required ioncube loader has not been detected for this easiForm script, please make sure you have the ioncube folder containing the required loader for your servers system.”

The folder is where it should be, the correct loader is available. I reckon its the path to the loader that is the issue but for the life of me I don’t know what the problem really is.
the website page is at Contact IFTS
Its at an early stage and I’ve a bit of work to do on the actual layout but I was wanting to get the from working first.
Any help would be great. Cheers

Hi tonzodehoo,

I don’t seem to have any message from you? can you post or contact me
directly with the email you used!

You have a file to check ioncube in the ioncube folder, basically it
says that you need the loader: ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so
can you check and see if that loader exists in the folder and get back
to me.

The loaders for PHP 5 have just been release a few wekks back, if you
have downloaded a copy of the actions from the easibase web site
before these loaders where available then it will not be included in
the ioncube folder, if it isn’t there I can send you these new loaders
for PHP 5

Hello Mike, Thanks for your response.
The loader ioncube_loader_5.2.so is in the folder.
My original email via the Econ Dataweb website contact page kept coming up with an error with the message content.
The message I was trying to leave had a few double quote marks but strangely when the page refreshed and gave me the error message after I’d hit the submit button then a lot of backslasshes seemed to appear in my message which weren’t there prior to the submit button being hit. Not sure if this is helpful at all. My message was basically as I’ve entered onto this forums.
Any help is gratefully received.

The error with the message content was probably because you where
trying to send a URL in the message content, it is blocked to stop
spam although the alert you get would tell you that.
You should be using the http://easibase.com web site for support as in
the readme files, the form there has a field for a URL on it so you
can send that without having it blocked in message text (which is not
permitted there either)… not sure how you ended up on the EDW site!

You will need to contact your hosting company and check if they allow
ioncube to be used as it appers they do not permit the run time
loaders, some servers such as Go Daddy who don’t support the run time
loaders permit the accounts php ini file to be altered for the server
account so that ioncube can be used.

For support on this you can contact me directly using the ‘From’ email
address in this message or using the contact form on the http://easibase.com
web site.

As a matter of interest, who are the hosting company?

Hello again Mike. I can’t recall specifically the error message mentioning the inclusion of the url but I guess that would most likely have been the problem.

I got to this page via a contact link on this page Tutorial: easiForm With Freeway

The hosting company is Globat.net and I had checked with them and they indicated that the ioncube is permitted.
They are not the hosting comany of my choice but the friend who’s website I am working on chose them for some reason.

Hi,

The page in the ioncube folder of your server telling you that then
loader needed is: ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so which is there but is not
being detected so maybe you have an option for altering the php.ini
file.

Contact support again and ask if you need to alter the php.ini file
for your account, again this is something they can explain.

Let me know what their reply is and how you get on with the next step.

Hello Mike, Well I did contact them and they loaded up an “ioncube encoded file” which appears to have resolved the issue partially.

I now get the demo alert panel. The page is not redirected to the thank you page and neither are emails received by me with the contact details or as the contactee.

I’m getting there but jst wonder what could be missing now.

Hi,

Not sure what file they uploaded as you don’t need to upload any other
files other than those supplied! but at least it now works.

The alert is telling you that the easiForm is running in demo mode,
the thanks page will not load until there is a license available on
the server, this is explained in the documentation for the action…
but you should get the email/s sent using the form, so you can see
that things function with the action.

If emails are not being received then either the email addresses are
entered incorrectly or the server may require the php mail() functions
-f parameter to be used… or not used but more than likely… to be
used. Expand the easiForm action and select to use the -f parameter,
if you use it then it will most likely need to be an email address
from the same domain the easiForm is used on, any time you change any
setting you will need to upload the site to the server and then reload
the form page so the new scripts with the changes you make are loaded.
This email address will not be used to send email to it is just a
value that is needed for the function if the server is set up that way.

On a side note: You need to select the item the PHP easiForm errors
acrtion is applied to and type a space there, it might also help to
add a style to the item as well as the space. Freeway sets some items
to have a 1px hight default style at times when it thinks the item is
empty, entering the space will fix that, then adding a style will make
the text the same style as the rest of the form.
Let me know how you get on.

Hello, I had hoped that this would have been more straightforward.
Would I be able to edit or view the action via transmit?

Could you maybe clarify what your side note does? Do I select the easiform errors action in freeway and put a space in the box?
Sorry about my apparent lack of understanding.

If the server does not allow you to send emails without setting the -f
parameter you have to set it in the action inspector window, it can’t
really be any more straightforward than simply selecting that option
in the action!

Not sure what you want transmit for! I think you might not be
understanding that the action settings are in the action inspector,
you select the page and open the actions inspector and the settings
are all there for you to select, in the same inspector window you
entered the email address for the recipient and the thanks page.

  1. Select the page the easiForm action is applied to
  2. Select ‘Advanced’ from the ‘Configuration ptions’ in the action
    inspector for easiForm
  3. Select ‘Yes’ from the ‘Select -f parameter’ menu
  4. If the recipient address is an address from the same domain the
form is used on then you don’t need to add the address as it will be
added for you automatically, if not then type in the email address to
use in the ‘-f parameter email’ field.
  5. Upload the site.
  6. Load the form page
  7. Test the form, you should now receive the email if it is a
legitimate email address used in the recipient field.
  8. If not then go back to the -f parameter menu and select ‘No’,
upload the site and test again as I have found that strangely some
servers will only send the emails if this is ‘Not’ set… although it
is becoming the more common to need this set.

Could you maybe clarify what your side note does?

It will turn the little tiny dots you see at the top of the first form
field elements (Freeway set 1px size text… looks like a little ant)
into a size the user can read.

Do I select the easiform errors action in freeway and put a space in
the box?

You select the item that error action is applied to and type a space
in that cell or html item, this will fool Freeway into thinking there
is text there so it will not set 1px as the style, this will then make
the text a default readable size but if you then apply a style to the
same then that text will be styled as the style you apply to it.

There is a full in depth PDF documentation about how to create a form
using the actions (Download link is under Opt 4# on the page linked
below), shows you how to lay a form out also, this might be useful to
you to read:
