PHP Feedback Form version 2.0.0 now available

Reposting due to an odd thread mix up. Apologies for the duplicate post.

Just a quick note to say that the PHP feedback Form action has been updated to version 2.0.0.

The actions (available in a page, item and standalone variety) now use the more robust $_SERVER PHP code which should cause fewer problems for all of you using PHP5 on your servers. PHP 4 is still supported right back to version 4.1.0. In addition to this I’ve added an option to add a simple spam trap (a honey trap) to weed out automated scripted submissions by using a form field that visitors won’t see but spam bots will. You can also choose to log the sender’s IP address in the resulting email as well. Finally there is an option to set the php_ini setting in the script which some ISPs require (FastHosts for example).

The action has been tested on PHP 4 and 5 but if there is anything that doesn’t appear to function correctly then please be sure to let me know at; http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=con

Download the action directly from http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=019

Regards,
Tim.

I, almost, spoke too soon. I’ve revised the action to version 2.0.1 as
there was a typo in the PHP code that caused the sender’s email
address to fail in certain circumstances.
The updated action is available from the PHP Feedback Form product
page at;

Thanks,
Tim.

Hi Tim,

Do you know of anyone who has successfully used this new action with GoDaddy hosting? I used the prior version with PHP 4 and GoDaddy. It worked fine, although it never functioned properly with PHP5 selected.

The new action does not work for me in PHP 4 or 5 – although I get my success page, nothing gets delivered.
It’s the same with all three security options selected, or any combination.

When I installed the new one, it seems to have replaced the one that worked, so I can’t re-install it. Can you forward the old version to me, or better yet, maybe help me get the new one to work?

thanks,
Andrew Macris

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the email. Your email came at a great time as I’m working with
another Freeway user who is also trying to get the action working with GoDaddy.
Their tech support don’t seem to be too helpful at the moment and although I’ve
made the changes they have asked for the emails still don’t get processed.
I’ve attached an older version of the action (1.9.5b) that should get you back
on track but hope to release a revision to version 2 that allows for GoDaddy
support soon.
All the best,
Tim.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for responding so quickly. I cannot find where to download the prior action off the messageboard. If you want to send it to andrew [ at ] macrisdirect [ dot ] com, that would be wonderful.

Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
Was the action not attached to that last email? Looking at my sent items it
should have been. I can send it again if needed.
Regards,
Tim.

OK. I’m officially not awake yet!
Sorry for confusion. I thought Andrew had sent me that mail directly and not
through FWTalk.
Andrew, I’ll forward the action now.
Thanks,
Tim (I need some coffee).
