Picture in text flow moves away !

Good day,
How is a graphic item positioned in a text flow?

My text is itself in another box (or several boxes), but when I publish the page or view it in a browser the graphic item “jumps” to the end of the text. Why is that so?

I have tested different ALIGN-options in the inspector,
such as Align: Bottom or Baseline, with the same result!

However on another part of the page it works just fine,
i.e. the graphic item just sticks to where it is supposed to be…

Strange!

Put the graphic in the same box with the text. Give the graphic a margin to wrap the text around.

This did not help,

I’m now switching back to the normal (non- box-model) layout).
& leave off the bottom stripe, for a smoother work-process…

Thank you anyway!

Do you have a sample page or something to look at?

Usually graphic items that are inputted into text need to be at a specific insertion point to achieve the desired effect.

Yes - the insertion point is after the [ - bracket,
at: ( "publishing packages and [ ")

The graphic is: Resources/trgdown.gif

the style used: (style="vertical-align:baseline; margin:1px)

and tested with other align options w/out success,

and the reproduced faulty output is at:

If you view the code, then you see (as in the browser-view) that the image is pushed to after the text!

How to avoid this behaviour?
I created an insertion point, the insert > Graphic item.

Hopefully there is a reason for this “misbehaviour” or it is my own misbehaviour?

Aha. The rest of your text is GIF text, but styled as HTML
paragraphs. You need to have all of the text in the box render as
HTML, or this inline GIF trick won’t work. Highlight all the text,
and in the Inspector, change the output mode from GIF to HTML. You
will need to adjust your styles to compensate, but you should be able
to do something very similar to this page with “plain” HTML text.

OK - solved!

GIF text it is!

Yes, the crook was that the whole text was a GIF text, and I only discovered it now , when I had a look into the Style Inspector.

There was an option under “Character” which said:

“Force Graphic Character” which was marked.

No idea how this could have happened

Thank you for the assistance.
