place video on web page

I was asked to put up a video on the high school football site that i created. I’ve done this before with iMovie and QT. What i have now is a DVD with these file formats.
VIDEO_TS
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.VOB
VTS_01_0.IFO
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.BUP
What in the heck is this? Where do i go from here? ah… another learning cureve.
Thanks

You’re going to need to use an application like Handbrake[1] to
convert the DVD video into a single QuickTime MOV file. It’s
incredibly easy to use, my daughter uses it to put movies on her iPod.

You can also use MPEGStreamclip to create Quicktime MOV. Use H264 for
best looking results.

waltd,
Thank you for the link to Handbreak. It worked just fine. The video is up and the coach loves it.
Mission accomplished!

cseeman,
I have used MPEGStreamclip in the past, but for some reason i couldn’t get it to work this time.
Thanks for your help as well.

Also consider buying a copy of Video2Swf from Vertical Moon. Easily converts a QT movie to a flash file so that a QT plug-in is not required.
Many, many Windows users are very hesitant about downloading plug-ins.

I’ve recently used it to convert a slideshow into a flash banner on this site:

Yet they line up in the millions to purchase iPods, rush home and
install iTunes to manage them, and install QuickTime anyway. The
Trojan Horse is at the gates!

Anyone who got the Quark Interactive Designer Plugin, this also does an excellent job on converting/embedding QT movies into Flash, its a much quicker and simpler method than working with Flash to do the same.
