Podcast & RSS

Hi,
I’m trying to figure out podcasting and rss. I’m trying to make a test podcast of some audio. I’ve used the rss action, from here, http://www.freewaypro.com/actions/simplerss/
but I have some general ‘newbie’ questions.

  1. The instructions say to make a “headline with link applied” and then descriptive text below. What should the link in the headline link to? to another page that has a the audio file to download, should it be a link to download a file?
  2. After applying the rss action, what should the link in the rss action dialog box link to? another page with in the site where the audio file can be downloaded? directly to url of the audio on the server?
It appears that the rss action worked to some extent, because there is now an .xml file on my server.
At any rate I’m very lost…here is the url where the rss action is applied, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich Gannon

I think the problem here is that the SimpleRSS action is meant for, well, simple RSS and not anything more involved than that such as a podcast. I’ve just spent some time playing around with this and been unable to get a test podcast working.

I create a podcast every week but I don’t use Freeway for it, I use Podcast Maker - lemonzdream.com - lemonzdream Resources and Information.

Podcast Maker also gets the podcast listed on iTunes. If you use this in conjunction with Feedburner - http://www.feedburner.com - then you also have full stats about who’s listening to your podcasts, how many downloads you get and on what platform etc.
