New to freeway. Currently using freeway express 6. I have an image map (image with linked “hot spots”) and I want to create a “hot spot”/linkable area that spawns a new window. Can’t figure out how to do this. I thought → “map area” > “rectangle” > “item” > “actions” > “spawn new window” or “link to new window” would do this, but no luck??? Any thoughts?
A map area cannot be used to trigger this, but if you draw a layered clear GIF image box and apply an instance of Spawn New Window or the Softpress-native equivalent to that box, you will be able to use that element as your click area.

One last shot at this (Bump).
any suggestions on how to “spawn new window” from an area/hotspot on an image?
Your new graphic is being composited (merged) with the underlying map image. You may have the CSS Layout button turned off, in which case it will read Table Layout. Click once on the clear graphic, and look in the Inspector. Ensure that the Layer checkbox is ticked. Then make sure that the Action is only applying to the layered clear graphic, not the underlying image. You may need to remove the Action and re-apply it to clear this.

Thank you for your response Walt!
I tried something similar to what I believe you are suggesting with no luck:
put a new graphic on top of existing map.
selected graphic > item > action > “link to new window”
blue “Link to Window” text appears at top left corner of BACKGROUND/ORIGINAL image/map not on new image. Any suggestions there?
