Popup Graphic and Scrolling Text

Hi. Appreciate any help with the following:

  1. How does one create a “popup” graphic ? (NOT a Rollover, a Popup) I want to hover over a graphic on one spot in the page and want another graphic to “popup” (appear) at another designated location on the page when I do that… Conversely then, when I remove the cursor from the hover spot, I want the popup graphic to not show again (disappear).

  2. I want to create a HTML item with text in it. However I want the text to actually be longer than the “box” it’s holding it in and I want the user to use a “scroll” bar to see the rest of the text that’s not shown. (just like the text box I’m entering this post with !)

Once again, thanks in advance, for any assistance !

You do it with… rollovers!

But the rollover event triggers an event that ‘shouts out’ to
anything that’s set up to respond to that particular event. You apply
the appropriate Action - Target Show/Hide Image, or Target Show/Hide
Layer if you’re using layers - to your popup image.

In the Rollover Action settings, set the MouseOver # to (for example)
1, then in the Target etc. Action settings make it initially hidden,
Restore set to Yes, and make sure Target # is also 1.

Make sure your HTML box is a layered item (see the Inspector palette,
only possible in Freeway Pro), then paste in your text. The content
will spill out of the box if there’s more than will fit. Now look in
the Dimensions section of the Inspector. Set Overflow to Scroll
rather than the default Visible.

K - Thank you ! I’ll give that a shot for #1. Was thinking “rollover” for items that are ‘aligned’ with each other only.

As far as #2, I’m not using Pro (yet…) so until then, I guess I can’t create my desired affect w/Freeway.

I appreciate the quick and friendly advice. Thank you so much…
