Possible now job but...

Heres a new clients request…

So I’ll be designing a newsletter each month and broadcasting via Constant contact… it then needs to be archived into a website with latest issue being the front page…

Is this doable? It seems a bit odd to me or is that just me?? I think whats he’s after is just doing the page once, then being able to embed all the work into his own website… and archive it - he used this as an example…

Haha no I haven’t… I think the client just presumes that once he has created an HTML email he should be able to embed it…

Hi Justin,

What about a slightly different approach - set up a blog to the client which he can email the link to in a html email, which you may create as a template.

Thanks Bryan - I think the client just want to work on the email, not the other way round but we’ll see… is this just not possible? Or not functional - any lightening would be great!

cheers

Hi Justin,

Take a look a Paul’s Freeway Moments Blogger Podcast. It details the “how to” for creating a blogger template. Once completed, all your client will have to do is to make a new blog instead of an email. Depending upon the number, the client can email links out using your own email or a service such as mailchimp. The blog itself will create the archive of previous emails. There are a few more details that I’ve skipped but the basics are there and the work for you is essentially one-time.

So the blog page itself will become an HTML email?

It will replace the email. In your specific instance, an email can be sent with a link to the blog. If I were to do this, I would create a template for an html email that has the same basic look of the blog advising of the latest blog.

The blog may be worked into other social media - facebook, google +, linkedin - which apparently will help with the search rankings.
