Printing a part of a page

I have an evaluation form in the middle of a page and want to give the user the choice to print it. Of course, I can use the “Link to new window” but I want the user to stay on my page, as the order form is at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, I can tell him/her to select the form and print it, but I’m looking for something more elegant. What to do?

Normally this would be done by specifying an extra CSS style sheet specifically for printed media, The link would look something like this

< link rel=“stylesheet” type=“text/css” media=“print” href="css/print.css’/>

then all the print specific styles in this new external style sheet would override the screen styles when you print the page out.
So you could say change font sizes position of items and include page breaks all within this new style sheet and they wont come into play until you hit print.

the book “CSS the missing manual” has a section on this and it does explain css very well

Thanks for the info, max. Bad luck, I’m not clever enough to implement this kind of stuff. I thought it would have been more straightforward, but I’m a dreamer. I’m sure many people would love to offer a smart page print selection with the intricalities hidden in a “print” button. Dreaming again?
