[Pro] A most unusual question (for Walt)

Hi Walt,

this question is even hard to explain but I will try.
My new site is coming along well but I can see a problem on its way.

When you first arrive at the site you see a WELCOME intro that you helped me make. Looks great.

From there the site fades in- all is good.

So far most of the time there are no SCROLL bars on the right side.

I can see that I will be adding some iFrames and other things to some pages beneath the main SMARTbaord and when I do this, this will make the right scroll bar appear (which is good).

How can I get the webpages that are NOT long enough to get scroll bars to always have them appear so I do not have a shift occur?

In other words, I always want the scroll bar to appear on right even if the page is super short.

Thanks!!

Walt, I made each page 1500pxls height (not sure why) and underneath my black smartboard I put an empty graphic box that was kinda big.

What this did is lengthen the page so the scroll bar appears.

This actually works ok as it adds a little wasted space underneath the smartbaord which i did not want, but the scroll bars appear so I guess it is ok.

If there is a better way, where you only see the board (until I add stuff beneath) AND the right scroll bar is always there, that would be great.

My real question and kinda related and is about iFRAMES and I will start a new thread now…

Thanks,

Barry

You could try adding a bottom margin to the body tag. In your Styles palette, choose New Style, type ‘body’ (without quotes) in the Tag field and delete whatever is in the Name field, then tab back out so it “sticks” that way. Click on the Paragraph (+) button and choose space after. Add any positive value you like – even 1px will be enough.

not much success with that for me. After I do it, the only thing I notice is some shift in the text which is in the center of the screen. I made sure I was clicked off the center and tried it several times but no matter how it did not really do it.

Maybe my method will do?
