What sort of counter are you interested in? The FreeCounter is very
easy to apply and use, but many people want a visible counter, and it
deliberately does not do that.

Hi Walter
Its for the client - he wants a visable counter to see how many visits he has. He is not very internet savy, so wants it as simple as possible.

I use http://www.statcounter.com/ for a number of my sites. You can have the counter visible either as a graphic or as text.
The latter allows you to incorporate the counter into a run of text as shown in the second paragraph at http://www.plasticvilleusa.org/
Another alternative could be a service offered by Google but I haven’t tried that one so far.
