[Pro] Adding comments section to a site

Hello all. A Newbie here. I’m wondering if the brain trust here could direct me to a relatively easy way to adding a comments section to the end of each article that appears on our new site http://beaconmag.com/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You can try this script from PHP Jabbers

I have not yet used this script but have used their calendar script. Seems like they all come with decent instructions.

Or use JS-Kits, it’s as simple as adding the code to a markup item in
Freeway:

JS-Kit worked great. Now I just need to figure out a way to make the footer navigation bar at the bottom of my pages move downward as more comments are added to a page
like so

I’ve tried JSKit but the darned thing takes hours to respond. The tech support people at JSKit are working on it, but so far this service has failed to live up to expectations. I’m trying Disqus now to see how it works out. Has anyone experienced problems with JSKit?

James, I have used the php script from phpJabbers, inserted it as an iframe with a bit of javascript to make the text box expand with the content.

Here’s a sample on my web site - http://freshbrand.com/blog/

I Googled around and found this javascript to make the textbox expand as the text increases.

In the Markup Item

<iframe width="100%" id="the_iframe"
	onLoad="calcHeight();"
	src="http://yourwebsite.com"
	scrolling="NO"
	frameborder="0"
	height="0">
</iframe>

In the Page HTML Markup - After Head

<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
function calcHeight()
{
  //find the height of the internal page
  var the_height=
    document.getElementById('the_iframe').contentWindow.
      document.body.scrollHeight;

  //change the height of the iframe
  document.getElementById('the_iframe').height=
      the_height;
}
//-->
</script>

Js-Kit has just upgraded to what they call Echo. http://js-kit.com/

I installed it on my site this morning on 3 of my pages. http://stationv.com/tech/tech.html

It seems to take a bit of time to load but otherwise works great.
