I’m trying to add a bit of animation to a webpage by having car appear to drive into the page from the edge – without using Flash.
I tried using the Move Layer action to slide the car from off page. The problem is the layer car-image-layer is initially visible while still off the side of the page. This kind of spoils the illusion. You can see it here: http://www.kirklandtransmission.com/Hybrid-Electric.html
So, here is my question. If I use the Coppélia action with the path starting off the web page, will the image become visible at the edge of the page, or will it appear while still off the page? Or is there some other way to do this?
If you need the sprite to drive on to the page and the page is centered, then you need to move your starting point really far off screen, so there’s no chance it will appear before you want it to start moving. In the Document Setup somewhere, there’s a setting where you can alter the size of the Pasteboard (the white area outside of your “page” area in the design view. If you ad a few thousand pixels to this, you should be able to find a starting point that is sufficiently far away from the left side of the screen so the sprite is fully hidden.

Thanks for your input, I will l check out both solutions.
Since you didn’t mention the Coppélia action, I assume that it will behave in a similar way to Move Layer with regard to sprite being visible while off the page.
