[Pro] Apollo mini-Gallery

I built my business web site (Freeway Pro 5) a while back and have finally gotten around to updating the content.

I used mooTools Slimbox to make simple, interactive slideshows (I hate auto-run!!!), some of which are now broken and un-fixable. When I looked to update mooTools, I discovered that it’s been abandoned.

I tried Exhibeo, but it’s too limited and completely un-tweakable… by me, at least. Showcase is too complex to setup… very UN-Freeway-like IMHO!

The tech support folks at SoftPress suggested Apollo mini-gallery. It looks good, but I’m not sure if I can make it do exactly what I want. Simple. Dead simple.

Basically, I have a fixed image (750 x 480 pixels) on each project page. Click on it to activate an interactive slide show. Click to go to next/previous image. Click to escape the show. (see link above)

I have 20+ slideshows with sets of images, all at 750x480 (so that people can look, but not steal my design drawings). That’s basically it.

Can I make Apollo do this?

Thanks!

Hi Jeff,
The Apollo template (http://www.freewaystyle.com/apollo-mini-gallery-template) ships with my Lightbox2 Action which allows you to display up to ten additional images in a light box overlay when the original image is clicked. If you want you can chain multiple light boxes together (much like the demo) so that each light box can display the next or previous image in the same chain.

Looking at your current site it looks like Lightbox2 would be a good fit to display the images although I think the Apollo template itself may be a little restrictive for the amount of information you want to display.

Feel free to contact me directly via the site if you’d like to ask anything further about this template;

Hi Tim…

I just want one main image on the page, then one at a time in the slideshow. No thumbnails, scrubbing, etc.

Looking at your current site it looks like Lightbox2 would be a good fit to display the images although I think the Apollo template itself may be a little restrictive for the amount of information you want to display.

Restrictive? How so?

I’ve tried to limit my slideshows to 10 images +1 on the main page. More in the slideshow would be great, if possible.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I’m not sure that the Apollo template has the physical room for you to add your own navigation (Home, Services, About us and Contact), sub navigation (project 1, 2 etc) and project description text. I created the design to act as a simple one page vcard gallery more than anything else.

Tim.

Any image that is on a web page can be ‘stolen’

If you dont want it pinched then dont put it on public display.

Obviously. I do architectural design and don’t want my details, etc., useful other than as a reference for the type and level of work I do.
