[Pro] Benefits of HTML 5?

What are the biggest benefits of HTML 5? Does FEP 6 automatically create HTML 5 compliant sites or do I have to specify that?

Freeway Express always writes HTML5. HTML5 is a superset of HTML before it, adding new features and removing nearly nothing in the process. Benefits include a new set of semantic elements that describe what their content is more clearly than the old “div for everything” approach of HTML. Further, there are new form elements and other tools that make it easier to build Web applications and other technical feats. But if all you are doing is creating a new static Web page, there’s little or no benefit to it that you will see immediately.

Freeway Pro 6 includes HTML5 and XHTML5 as output types, and the same answer applies if those are chosen in the Document Setup dialog or the Output pane of the Page Inspector. I don’t know what the default is if you have just bought Freeway Pro and never had a previous version installed (that hasn’t been the case for me since 1997).

benefits of html5 - Google Search should get you started.

While we’re all talking about it, anyone know what happened to the missing
html5 elements in Pro6? I’m missing hgroup, figure and figcaption, but
there are a few other elements that aren’t available either.

Coming soon, or dumbed down?
