[Pro] Best way to do a gallery for products in a store in Freeway Pro5 & which shopping cart etc. for my site?

there is a box that says background scrolls that can be checked or unchecked…

This is to do with how the bg image relates to the page content.

Background Scrolls enabled means that the bg image will scroll with the page content.

Unchecked and the content will scroll but the bg image will not.

You have to have a tall enough page to see this of course.

another problem I’m having, which I had in the past is that my photos which look great in ps and lightroom look truly awful and washed out when theyr’e enlarge at all in freeway…

You should never enlarge in image in FW beyond it actual size in PS. Scaling up is a sure way of reducing quality.

Best way is to import a PS psd image as close to the actual size you will use it in FW.

Dont import an image that is already a jpeg unless you want to jpeg it again (lose quality). Instead resize in PS and import as a pass-through.

I haven’t enlarged the images… they are large size images shot with my nikon- what I’m saying is they look fine in the thumbnail done at Ecwid but if they are imported to an graphic box, which is larger in this case, but it could happen in a smaller one too I’m sure, they lose color, tonality depth and clarity, these are large files to begin with, high quality resolution etc.

Dave,

I just tried that with one of the images, resaved at the size of the box at FW and as a psd, it was much worse, it was tiny and then totally pixelated when scaled to the box… not sure what is up here but I have to do something as the photo quality is really terrible. My background images on the other hand look great as do some I put into a fading slide show on the home page…

Watch what setting you have on your Import dialogue box - you may have Ignore resolution checked/unchecked. If so if you double click on the imported image and Resample you should see what you want.

Or try with Ignore Resolution checked - I can never remember which is which.
