[Pro] Blog CMS

A client wants me to add a blog page, that she can update herself, to her existing site that I created in FW.

What are my options? Is Pulse the best bet? Never used it, so can sometime explain what I have to do once I’ve signed-up and downloaded it? Can it be added to an existing site? Will it follow the existing site layout?

Thanks

Its a good option. Whether its the best bet for you?

Install the software/code. Add some markup to a .php page and away you go.

Sure. You can insert the Markup into your own FW layout and style it to match your site.

There is a trial that you can download. It certainly is a good and easy option if you just want to add a Blog page(s).

There is a lot more to it than that if you want it.

Thanks, David. I’ll download the trial and have a play.

Anything else that’s as simple or even more simple?

I think you would struggle to find anything that is much easier to use to set up a Blog.

Often when a client asks for a blog they think they are all the same, but they can and do vary in features, beyond their core functionality. So if I were you I would ask the client what they expect to do with it beyond adding posts. For example, what Pulse can do is very different from what Wordpress can do, and so on.

I should also point out that Pulse 4 (latest) doesn’t use the Markup/Embed system of previous versions so isn’t quite the same as I described.

ie you create separate pages within Pulse rather than just adding some markup to your FW page.

If you want to use that method (markup in a FW page) then Pulse Classic is probably the one you want.
