Big question I’m afraid - this follows on from an earlier thread from me about a local ‘dog friendly’ site. So I’ve now decided to broaden the idea and want it to be just a general information site for residents and visitors to my town.
I want it to be enjoyable for ME and hope that visitors get something useful out of it, I’ll post my own photographs and reports about good walks and places to eat etc etc.
There are plenty of other sites that have a lot of this information but, as mentioned, this is primarily for my own pleasure and if I can monetise it further down the line I might do so with Google adwords or something.
But (at last) my question … looking at sites that are similar to my aspirations they ALL have links for "liking’ etc on all of the social media websites and I’m wondering just how much time per day am I going to have to spend checking all of the links and comments and forum responses that the site might get if it becomes popular. I know it’s an impossible question … I guess I’m asking am I in danger of creating a rod for my old back and would I prefer to be out in the sun with the dog ?
Thanks chaps … Roger
