[Pro] Blog read-feed outside box

Dear all,

I’m in a real bind and hope someone can help.

On the page above I have a blog feed. The data is falling well outside of the readfeed box. I’ve tried a freezeform Action but this doesn’t help.

Is there a simple fix so it stays within the confines of the readfeed box?

As an aside, alot of characters aren’t being recognised and come out as random characters. Is there anything I can do about this?

Thank you all in advance.

Mark

Hi Mark,
First of all check that you have the latest version of the Action installed (the latest appears to be version 0.4.3). You can download an updated version of the Action from ReadFeed - ActionsForge

You can fix the text overflowing the bounds of the parent box by selecting it (item5) and setting the overflow setting in the Inspector palette to hidden. The character encoding issue I’ll pass to Walter’s better judgement. I noticed that the page contains two item5 IDs which will invalidate the page. It could be that this issue has been addressed in a later version of the Action but if not it is worth looking into and getting the matter resolved.
Regards,
Tim.

Hi Tim,

Many thanks for the reply.

I’ve tried your suggestion, however it doesn’t seem to have made a difference.

The item is now hidden. I’m using the most up-to-date version of the Action. And I’ve renamed the Item5 multiples you found on the page (sorry, bad house-keeping on my part)

I’ve uploaded the amended page on to the site.

Any thoughts?

Just wanted to add that I a trawled through earlier posts and found from one of Walts to try and change the Encoding to Unicode 6 UHF-8.

It’s done the trick with the strange characters, which is good. Still can’t get the readfeed inside the box though.

Hope you can help.

Regards,

Mark

Update!

After more digging I found another of Walts post (thank you Walt), had a go and now it seems to be working ok with a scroll function added in!

Thanks again for your time though Tim.

Mark
