[Pro] Blogger blocks CSS drop down menus

Hi all

I have been working on updating a blogger ‘skin’ using Freeway actions and have hit a problem. For some reason drop down menus created with the CSS menu action 2.1.13 are not showing any more.

You can see my Freeway page at http://www.DMofT.co.uk/blogger/old-index.html where the drop down menus appear correctly.

However when the code is copied into blogger (and some styles edited) the drop down menus disappear http://news.dundeemuseumoftransport.co.uk

I think I have eliminated z-index issues because the block that follows has a transparent background. I have also played around with height attributes but again they made no difference.

I created a very simple test page with just the menu and one blogger element in place - see http://www.dundeemuseumoftransport.co.uk/blogger/test.html - and still the drop down menu don’t appear when the code is pasted in blogger.

Hopefully an expert casting a quick glance over this will be able to spot the problem and help me get this working again as soon as possible.

All the best

Gordon

Hi again

Both pages submitted to Softpress support illustrating this issue were rejected because I’d used a style for the CSS menu and changed some of the action settings from their defaults.

I have therefore created and submitted a third example. This is a new file created using Freeway Pro 6.1.2 on an iMac running OS X 10.9. On the otherwise blank page is a list (called ‘item1’ - I didn’t even want to change this from the Freeway default) to which the CSS Menus action version 2.1.13 is applied. None of the action’s default setting were changed.

The only other element on this page, called ‘item2’, is one instance of the Blogger Header action version 1.4.3, again with none of the action settings changed. One blogger action instance is required so the resulting code can be pasted into blogger.

You can view this page online at http://www.DMofT.co.uk/blogger/test2.html and it has two working drop down menus under ‘Premises’ and ‘Gallery’.

The code generated by this page was copied and pasted into blogger using the ‘Copy to clipboard’ button within the Blogger Header action. To rule out any problems with the previous blogger account I have used a different account this time - http://rmbuses.blogspot.com

I have viewed this page using Safari 7.0, Firefox 26.0, Google Chrome 33.0.1736.2, Sunrise 2.2.1, SeaMoney 2.22.1, Opera 18.0 and OmniWeb 5.11.2. In each case neither of the drop down menus appear.

Hopefully by eliminating styles and custom code, not changing any of the action settings, starting with a clean brand-new Freeway Pro document and only using Softrpess-produced actions this may help track down why these drop down menus no longer work.

All the best

Gordon

Hi again

Just to wrap this up Keith Rigley at Softpress identified the problem and solution. I had changed the language from ‘none’ to ‘English International’. Changing it back to ‘none’ cured the problem and the menus function once again in Blogger!

Thanks to everyone here for their help and support over the year and all the very best for Christmas and the New Year.

Gordon
