[Pro] Box Model Woes

I’m trying really hard to use the box model method on at least part of the site I’m working on. I have inline boxes with text and when I enlarge the text in the browser, the text falls out of the box.

I thought the box would expand, but it doesn’t. I’ve looked at samples that people have done and I don;t see how my set up differs, yet it doesn’t work.

Any ideas why this wouldn’t work?

Here’s the page:

Expand the menu (they don’t all expand) then enlarge the text in the browser,

It’s a simple problem. You have set the box size to be a specific dimension veritcally. That won’t work. The box must be free to resize vertically, and to do so you must click on the height button so it is not highlighted in the inspector pallet effectively causing the box to shrink (or grow) to the size of the content.

Well the way it’s set up I can’t do that. behind the beige is white, and I need the beige to go all the way down to where it is now.

Also, with the navigation the way it is, the beige area scoots all the way up under the last nav link.

Hi Bob,
I was looking at your site last night and put together a simple
example of this layout using a box model layout;

The layout avoids the need to render the white page as a single large
graphic.
I hope it helps.
Regards,
Tim.

Thanks very much, Tim!

I’m going to see if I can add the Transition FX to the navigation without screwing it up!
