Omar,

on the test page is what I think are 2 identical situations except one is with original Carousel and other is with Carousel 2

The Carousel 2 will not use the transition fx to delay but as you can see the original carousel does come in 3 sec later without flashing and without any extended hidden.

not sure why.

Ok,

have carousel 2 working no flashing…all great except

cannot figure out how to hide it for the first few seconds and come in with others…

I was thinking the first slide could be blank, but then every time it came around there would be a blank.

TIm/Walt,

I have given this much thought and really I do not need the Carousel to delay in, just the first Graphic box which is in the first position of the Carousel to delay in.

of course it will not let me apply the transition fx to the 1st graphic box becuase it gives an error.

this SO CLOSE…

what you are seeing is the carousel 2 with the initial graphic box as a nested positioned child as you told me to do. Then I put the transition effect on it and then the entire carousel delays.

Only problem is a very weird one…

  1. it skips showing the very first slide at first (maybe because of the delay)
  2. when it does come around to the first slide, it just “appears” and does not slide in like it should.

i think this is very close, just not sure about why the initial graphic box pane just appears and how this is related to the way I nested it.

Omar,

I think I fixed it thanks to Walt’s nested idea.

All I did was take off the option to wrap around and now it acts like the original carousel where it swings back (would like it to wrap around but no big deal), BUT it holds the delay transition and no flash when comes on.
