[Pro] Carousel or slider that adjusts to fit content

Is there currently an action or is it possible to adapt the Carousel action to adjust the page to fit the content like it does with the Anything Slider:

http://css-tricks.com/examples/AnythingSlider/#panel2-2

(Second demo on the page)

I have several carousels where one pane has lots of content and the other(s) don’t, so there is a huge white space at the bottom of the page. It’s not so bad if the first pane has the biggest amount of info, but when it’s not, the big white space is really obvious.

Example: http://live.bellevuerotary.net/international-grants.html

I have tweaked everything as much as I can so as not to cut off the bottom of anything and have it all appear in the multiple browsers, but there is still a heft white space.

Any suggestions? I am tempted to use one of the sliders, but that will put me out of Protaculous territory, and while I don’t use it on some of these pages, I don’t know if I want to rule it out completely.

That’s really cool, but I don’t see a way to do this in the Carousel script the way it is currently written. You are correct that using this exact script will make it impossible to include other Prototype-based scripts in the same page.

Carousel is probably a bit overkill in this situation. Why not use a method like Tabs that can adjust for content height.

David, I would use tabs, I really would! What Tabs? I don’t know about Tabs. I only know about Carousel and Scripty Fader. Please point me in the right direction. I would be grateful.

Anybody know what Tabs Dave is referring to? The only link I have found is a dead one on the Softpress site.

I contacted Softpress and got the link, in case anyone is looking for it:

Walter also posted recently about a method of creating a Tabbed set up - I will have a look for it.
