[Pro] change content in a pane?

Seems like an easy way to change content in a single area or pane of a webpage is to use show/hide layer but what are the downsides of have 20-25 show/hide layers (other than trying to keep them all straight)?

Is there a better/another way to do this?

I have thumbnails along the top of the page and when I click on them I want to display different HTML data in a 500 x 400 panel below them. Show/hide works great with 2 different items, but I cant imagine dealing with 25 stacked (fairly complex) html layers.

Downsides: That many layers might take a long time to load, depending on their contents.

Better/another way: Search this forum for threads about the Carousel Action. Perhaps that might be a way to go. See the “Current News” menu at http://bartwalter.com/info/bartwalternews.html for a Carousel implementation.
