[Pro] change z-index of css menu?

Hi all,

I have used the CSS menus action in Freeway, but they are currently disappearing underneath my nivo slider images - although they do appear above the very first image shown, after that they disappear.

I read that this is an issue with the z-index number, which for my CSS Menu is set as z-index:1.

Is there a way I can change this to something at over 200 to clear it away from my slider?

Thanks in advance.

Jonathan

Select the CSS Menu container Item>Extended

Create a new name/value pair of z-index/99 OK this and test

It is unlikely that the z-index on your Nivo is anywhere near as high as 200

Hi David,

Unfortunately that hasn’t worked. I have the site set up as a box model, and the css menu is in one html holder in the header, and the nivo slider is in another html holder directly below.

Testing on a standard layout proves this is the issue because the css menu works perfectly well over the nivo slider out of a box layout, but the design of the site means I really need the box model so width and depth items can grow with the content of the site.

Below is how the source code looks after adding the extended code.

I think I need to use something other than css menus? The z-index on the css for the slider varies from 5 through to 9.

Thanks for your help.

Post a link to your page so that we can dissect.

Does your Nivo Slider contain any Flash by chance?

Hi.

Unfortunately there isn’t a live link I can put the site on, and I am pretty sure Nivo doesn’t include any Flash.

That said, I have had to go with an alternative solution, and moved the slider down the page to accommodate the menus in full, rather than have them drop down.

Thanks for the help, though.

We could probably have given you a solution that would have avoided that if we could see the page on a server.

It makes it so much easier for us to help diagnose problems if we can see a complete page and the underlying code. Seeing it live on a server is the next best thing to seeing the FW doc itself.

I do appreciate that Dave, and had I posted earlier in the week I could have sorted a live server to show, but I needed to make a decision due to pressures of deadlines and the weekend got in the way.

I will still try and get something online to show the issue, because there may be new pages added at a later date.
