[Pro] Clients saying website not working

Hi chaps, I’m working on a new site:

www.lionhearttravel.co.uk

the client says his sister cannot get the ‘Contact’ page to work and his brother says he cannot get to the site using Internet Explorer.

I tested the site and the contact page on my mac and on a PC with those browsers and I don’t have a problem at all … what can I say to him ? or is there a possible problem that doesn’t reveal itself on my kit ?

Best Roger

To be precise, what can’t they get to work?

The contact link all all the other page?

Or the page won’t display at all?

Are they expecting to see a web form on the contact page?

Roger,

I would replace the file name spaces in Freeway with a dash “-” or
underscore “_” to get rid of all the %20 between the words.

Thanks David, well of course I’m not totally sure about what they can’t see or do, I’ll need to get them to be more specific but if you cannot think of anything obvious then I’m guessing they’re doing something wrong. Good tip about the ‘dashes’ thank you … Roger (out of interest, is the %20 inserted because of the ‘space’ and does getting rid of do anything other than make it look, and read, better) ?

I’ll push my luck here David, any ideas why the “Sightseeing” and “France” pages jump a few pixels to the left when I click on the link image … I’m sure I’ve checked everything I can find in ‘Inspector’ that might be causing the problem … thanks again … Roger

Freeway is putting in the %20 to make sure the link does not break if
it were left blank. I use a dash “-” to separate words in links or
file names.

Roger; the content on those two pages is sufficient to cause a
scrollbar to appear.

best wishes,

Ah, I didn’t spot that, I looked at everything I could think of - I’ll maybe move some images inwards so it doesn’t happen, so good of you thanks - Roger

move some images inwards

It is not the width of the page causing the scroll bars but the differing heights.

Your home page is relatively short so moving to the longer pages shows the problem
