FreeCounter2 is available at the 'Forge - FreeCounter2 - ActionsForge
This is NOT a visible counter but does provide valuable tracking info and stats.
Visible counters are frowned upon these days as tacky and easily manipulated.

Thanks for that David.
I downloaded the action and installed it on the page.
How do I access the data generated by it?
Kind regards

On the Actions page at ActionsForge where you got the action it tells you:
Draw an instance of this Action onto any page you wish to track with the free FreeCounter2 Web traffic reporting service.
The link is to http://freewaypro.com/counter2/

Just a heads up – very early warning – I am going to be sunsetting this service at some time in the coming year. Plan accordingly. http://getclicky.com is a great non-Google solution to this problem, and Google Analytics is the 10,000 # gorilla in this space.

The above is self explanatory. Can anyone suggest an alternative to Walters version? I have tried contacting Walter but his web mail form won’t accept my e-mail address.

Which one of my forms, and which address? Feel free to reply off-list if you prefer. If you’re looking at this on the Web, click my name for contact details.

This is the page and the website Walter -
www.walterdavisstudio.com/contact_us.php wouldn’t send my mail because it said my email address didn’t look like an email address!!

That would probably be the - in your user name. Strictly speaking, that’s not supposed to be a possible character in that segment of the address. I’ll relax the test, though, since you seem to use it successfully.

Hi Walter, I’m still getting the email address highlighted with the message that “this doesn’t look like an email address”
My query was do you have an alternate Freeway action in mind to replace the one that is about to die?
Cheers

Softpress have shipped a Google Analytics Action as a core Action in Freeway for two or three versions now.

Found it.
How does it work?
What is the site code?
Sorry to be thick but this is the first time I’ve used it and I can’t find any help on Freeway site.
Cheers

You need to go to Google Analytics, sign up for an account there, and copy the account ID they give you. Do not bother with anything other than the account ID, especially do not try to paste the entire tracking code snippet into the Action.
