I am creating a CSS menu. I have one HTML item with the text in it. The HTML is sitting on a graphic item which should be the background image for the menu.
However, when I preview the page in safari, the background item disappears.

There is an option in the CSS Menu settings to choose an image as a background - to the right of the colour selector. Probably best to use that.

I have an image chosen in the sub menu settings. One for link and one for hover. They are both transparent pngs, one white and one black as you can see.
In the main menu settings I have no image and no background, as I want to be able to see the gold bar which should be behind all my nav bar html items…but my gold bar image has vanished.

Its not mentioned in the output of your page - is it set to Publish in the inspector?
Is it a layer behind the CSS Menu?
Have you tried adding it in the CSS Menu settings?

Yes its set to publish
Yes its a layer behind the CSS menu. I tried unchecking it’s combine with children box but that didn’t help.
I can’t add it in the CSS settings because it has curver corners at both ends, where home and contact are, so just having the middle portion would be no use

As it doesn’t show up in your HTML code I do not know what to suggest.
Would really need to see the FW doc to provide more insight.

Here is an example of a CSS menu with curved corners (probably webkit browser specific?) http://www.deltadzine.net/test/menubgtest.html

I have the background working now, not too sure what was wrong. I just deleted it, made a new graphic box and imported it again, and it worked.
Thanks for the time Dave!

I think your Tab could do with being wider - Our Range is splitting onto 2 lines for me
