[Pro] css menu conflicts

I created my first css menu and it works fine on the home page but on other pages the text and images get pushed halfway off the page. What am I doing different? I have spent hours and cannot see why the menu works on some pages but causes a mess on others.

If you can post a link to your page(s) on line we can probably help.

But I suspect that your CSS Menu container is not a layered item.

Hi David. Thanks for the suggestion regarding whether each item is set to css layer. The css menu container has been fine, but some html text that I copied from an older website was not layered, to my surprise. I also discovered that the graphic items I inserted into two html text blocks also showed up as not layered, even though the html blocks themselves were. I appreciate your fast response to my question, since I am up against a big deadline and spent hours with this.

Hi David, I just discovered something else that seems to make a huge difference: I have been trying to build the pages like normal, but it appears that I need to start the rest of the page just below the css outline box. When I do that and view in browser (as well as upload to the web), the huge space gap magically closes up. Is that why I have had such problems? Not sure how I missed that in the guide.

If you are using a recent version of FW Pro (5.5 and above?) then you can also try applying the RPL (Relative Page Layout) action to your page(s) which might go a long way to sorting your problems - but your items should all be layered for this to work.

If you are not familiar with RPL then have a look here http://www.softpress.com/tour/new-in-freeway-55/
