[Pro] CSS Menu question

HI, I’m still pretty new to Freeway 5 pro–I’m starting my third small site with unfortunate time gaps between to forget things.
First time trying to use CSS menus (rather than graphic rollovers) and have a couple of problems.

  1. With horizontal menu for 6 site pages, I can’t get the menu items to space themselves correctly across the page; they are varying widths apart no matter what padding or alignment settings I try.
  2. This horizontal menu will be placed over a horizontal graphic image on the master page. Menu items should be text only on transparent background: no box, no background color. These options are set to “none,” and in page view it looks fine, but in preview or in preview on browser, the whole CSS Menu box has a white background that obscures the graphic it’s on top of.

Any tips?

Thanks very much!–
Cecily

A link to your example online would be useful.

Thanks, Dave–

No host yet, someone else is choosing it. Will post again when I can show the link.

Can you not add a page into an existing site - your own for example?

I started to add a page to my site but got nervous that I’d screw up the navigation on that site (ulp) so I quit.

I can show you in a PDF; is there a way I can attach one?

Thanks,
C.

No - a PDF wont help

I wanted to see the underlying code.

You could send a cut down version of the FW file.

Select a page from the site pane at the LHS.

Edit>Copy

Open a new blank FW document

Give it a name etc and save to your Desktop

In the new doc click on the site folder icon in the Site pane and Edit>Paste

In the new doc File>Save Archive

You will get a dialogue box about the current doc being saved prior to saving the archive - click OK

Save the archive and give it a name (again to your DT)

You will now have a folder on your DT containing the cut down FW file with the page you copied out of your site.

Right click the folder and Compress it to create a Zip

Email me the zipped file - address in the People section of FWT

I saved a zipped archive as you suggest, but so far can’t get to your email from the People list-- will try it again in a bit.

thanks very much
