[Pro] customer comments on click

I want to show a short customer comment (as html text) and upon clicking a graphic button the comment changes to next one etc. Can’t use moo on page as it is already there - is there a simple solution please.

Where do you have these comments stored at the moment? Have you looked at the Carousel Action for this, or the Sequence Timer and Target Show/Hide Layer? If you already have a Moo-based effect on the page, then you cannot use Carousel (since it uses Prototype.js) but if you’re saying you’re already using Moo on your page, then you can use a different Moo-based effect to switch between visible comments.

Hi Walter.

I just want to expand on the Customer comments here (bottom left of page) as there are now a few more:

Can I ask what you mean when you say a “different Moo-based effect”?

I could just have a link to a new page but prefer to have them contained within the box you see by joining the two existing cells. Thanks

Sorry Guys

At my wits end trying to find a soultion to this.
I’ve been trying html text layers on top of each other and trying to apply sequence click button but can only get 3 of 4 frames to show in sequence and can’t get the first layer to be initially visible and be replaced with next one.

Any help - much appreciated.

Rather than a Moo solution you really need a JQuery one as the Boutique Gallery script you are using is JQuery based.

If you weren’t using that I would suggest this Script/Protaculous based solution from Walter at the top of this page. It might work!

Hi Dave

Thanks for your reply

Yes it is unfortunate that Walter’s excellent newsticker will not work here.
But there must be a simple solution using show/hide layers (be they html or graphic) with a click through sequence. If i get really stuck I will have to just link to a new page for the comments - but at the moment there are only a few comments and it seems a bit overboard to go this way.
Thanks again for your time.

Trev.

OK - here is something for you to look at - jQuery based

Ah - now that looks good.

I had toyed with the idea of something like a 1-2-3-4 - next type of thing - but this looks very sleek. In the meantime on the actual page I’ve used scrolling text/content and up down buttons - here:
http://www.orionoptics.co.uk/ just to get it live BUT I am interested in this. Can you possibly email me or post a link of the freeway example to disect - this would look much better.

Regards

Like your Orion site - really nice. How did you do the revolving pictures?

Hi Kevin

Thanks for your kind comments.

The Carousel used is a jQuery slider/carousel purchased here:

http://codecanyon.net/item/boutique-carousel/113093

this was then placed into the Freeway document with a lot of help from “Delta Dave” (see this post) who helped me through getting it to work - can’t praise the guy enough I must add - he is a virtual gold mine when it comes to all things “Freeway” and helping out those of us that just muddle through - it works very well as I wanted a bit of movement on the page - but as I don’t know flash and not too hot on the code side of things - this suited fine. There are a couple of versions/examples on there and it is pretty easy to customise via the CSS files.
Thanks again for your post.

Hi Trev
Do you have a link to the thread where Delta Dave helped you with the carousel.

OK Trev - you can download the FW.5 file from http://www.deltadesign.co/examples/jqueryslideshow.html

Kevin - the thread was http://freewaytalk.net/thread/view/79998#m_79998

But unfortunately it is not going to help you much - a lot of the support for Trev on that one was via email.

If you want to contact me I will send the example file that I sent to Trev - but remember that if you want to use this script it needs to be purchased first.
