[Pro] Differerences in trial and paid Pro versions?

I’m working with a trial version, have ordered the full version from Apple (as I get a discount) but in the meantime need to get on with creating pages and am having trouble creating a table longer than about 23 rows for the information I need to put in, although I’m able to add rows, I can’t scroll down to edit them, and the program won’t let me position the table where I want either. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, or if it’s a limitation of the trial version, or if it’s a limitation of the full program which I need to take into account when designing pages. Anybody know? If

I dont think that there are any differences between them and certainly there is no limitation to the amount of rows you can have.

Couple of things to check

1 - What height have you set your page to. If it isnt tall enough you wont get a tall table on it. Make it something large and you can always reduce it later.

2 - In File>Document Setup under the first section ‘Document’ there is an area where you can define your pasteboard size. If you set it to 500px this will then allow you to see the 500px above, below, left and right of your actual page size no matter the size of your actual page.

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks so much for your reply, I knew I had to be missing something obvious!
I had set my page height to 700pix, have now changed it to 1500 pix for now, my black background has now allowed me to see the pale text I had originally been straining to see against the white pasteboard.
I see now that once I had got to 700pix plus the default for the pasteboard which is why the table decided to reposition itself automatically when it reached the ‘limit’.
Bliss

No problem Heather

You will always find someone here ready to answer your queries and because of the world-wide nature of our contributors there is usually someone around 24/7. Just high days and holidays that the response might be a bit slower.

the ‘limit’.

By the way, keep in mind that tables are great for organising
‘tabulated’ content… but they’re not at all good (as in they’re
clunky and highly inflexible) for general layout purposes.

Just mentioning…

No worries - I’m using a CSS layout for all the pages, but just using a table on one page as I need to list a whole load of events and it felt logical to put the info in a table and it was given to me in table format as well…

Incorrect page height can also effect (ie. it won’t work) actions such as Mootools: Slimbox.

Extending the underlying base page height will solve it.
