If you want a ‘secure’ area that only people with the correct username and password can access then this is best enabled server-side.
In a standard hosting Cpanel there is an area called Password Protect Directories where you can create and or protect a folder on the server and assign username/password combinations to it.
This is an interim site while the ‘BIG’ one gets finished and it will then
happen through the server.
I’ll work on the folder as you’ve outlined for the temporary site.
And yet again… Thank you.

I am fine tuning and as I correct things the testers are finding, I am
uploading. The site has several videos and it is very time consuming to
upload.
The video files do not change… is there a way to upload without it
re-pulling the video files every time?
Besides just removing them until the end?
Thanks
Darlene

Have lost the sound in my videos (not all of them just a couple). Have
checked the original files and they are fine; have tried putting it in
another site and linking to it… no sound there either. Have manually put
them in the FTP to be sure nothing was lost in the upload (although every
time I upload it re-loads them… my issue in previous email)
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

By changing from the FLV action to using the html import (QuickTime) they
seem to be working. However taking a long time to load (duh, size of the
files). Have run them through HandBrake… Must be missing something.
Another area not within my knowledge base…
Thanks,
Darlene

In answer to my other question/your response:
“Certainly you want to keep these file sizes down. How were they
created.QT Pro has the option to save the file with fast web start.”
The videos come in from each channel provider, so they come in all kinds
of ways. This usually goes through our ‘video’ person not me, but they are
gone for several weeks on emergency. Soooo, I was told put them through
HandBrake, save as .mov or Mp4 and upload them… I’m sure something has
been left out of the translation.
Thank you Dr. Dave,
