[Pro] dodgy program or is it just me?

i’m having trouble getting a link to display properly. on the master page i create a text box, type “transition program” and hyperlink the box it to the correct page. it shows fine on the master page, and all the pages that use this master but in preview mode of the various pages that show this link, some (but not all) pages shift the first word in the phrase down a mm or so. it also publishes with this error. so in the website some pages show this link properly, some shift the first word down.

i also can’t get the snap to guides to work. it’s selected under the view menu, but i have to arrange text boxes manually to line stuff up and you can see the slight differences.
btw, i know nothing about html.

Somewhat dodgy, but more often it turns out to be me.

First, when you’ve got a non-working site, post a link to it. People here are generally really great about helping, but pretty much can’t if they can’t see your problems in action, on the web.

Second, if you really know nothing about HTML/XML/CSS/PHP etc., it’s going to be really dodgy trying to fine tune a site, no matter what program you’re using. Web pages have a set of truly screwey rules by which they work. HTML is nothing like a mature Postscript based workflow. Think the worst arcana of PDF when it was new, then imagine it being mucked about with by Jolt addled programmers who know nothing about graphic design, every six months. And having to rework every “design” for 3 or 4 different media, none of which follow the exact same rules of presentation.

Snapping works pretty well for me in v5.4.1.
