[Pro] Drag and Drop Photos

I am testing out Freeway Pro. I am a iWeb user and I do not want to learn too much HTML crap. I just want to drag and drop photos to my websites (I have several). Photos automatically sizes itself within the box. But with Freeway 5.5, I am unable to do that. When I drag my photo from Showcase, it does not automatically resize. It comes up in its original size. I had a hard time figuring out how to resize it within the box. If I need to resize this for every photo I add to the template, freeway is not good for me. Unless there is a shortcut?

I found by “right click” where it shows options. Odd, there are no options to scale the photo to fix the box. The one I did stretched this lades face left and right, ha. Hmm. Seems some tinkering to do. Guess its a learning curve. Nice to see that I can edit with CS5 or iPhoto. Is there a way to edit photos using Aperture? Thanks for your understanding and support. Paul

I was learning the software. Was on the 6th page with all the cool edits and then it crashed. Lost everything. Not impressed so far. :frowning:

Try this

Opt+File>Open Backup and navigate to where your FW file was - there may or may not be a .fwbackup file in there.

But like working with any app - regular saves are best practice.

I use a Mac. What is Opt+File? I have the option key but what is the file key?

Not a File Key but the File Menu in Freeway

Access the File Menu while pressing the option key.

Hold down the Option key, then choose File / Open from the main menu. While the Option key is down, the File / Open command allows backup files to be chosen (normally, they appear grayed out in the list of files so you won’t open them by mistake).

No cigar with this one. I decided to do it all over again. Guess what - Crashed again at the end of the first page. I was using Freeway Express downloaded earlier today on my brand new 27" iMac - OS 10.7.3

One of the major causes of crashes in FW is dodgy fonts.

Do you remember what font you were using at the time?

It is worth using Font Book and validate your Fonts to see if it finds any that are dodgy.

No new fonts were added to my new computer. The ones I used on the main page headline was the GIF type with green emboss. Do you think this caused the crashes?

It would be unusual when using a standard set of fonts. But not unheard of. Run Font Book to check them.

Ive never had to run Font Book in all of my years with all those Macintoshes since 1984. How do I go about that? Sorry for so many questions.

Font Book is in your Applications Folder - at least it is in Snow Leopard

Once you have started the app select All Fonts (top left under collections) and then File>Validate Fonts

Once it has run its course you have the option to select fonts and Remove Checked if the error is serious.

You may have no problems - it is worth checking though.

Done. But I have a feeling this has nothing to do with the crashes. Will try again tonight after dinner if my kids and wife permits me. )

It may not be - but it is a common cause of FW crashes - usually at startup.
